Best Practices

Do you know your best practices? Best Practice Agricultural Guidelines were developed in 2013 by the Sustainable OrganicAgriculture Action Network (SOAAN).

The document was approved by the global organic movement by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) General Assembly in December 2013.

There’s a list for each “dimension,” in the guidelines, published by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations.

The document includes dimensions for “social,” to promote the notion that people should live in equality and equity.

Other dimensions are ecological, economic, cultural and accountability.

We will offer most of our expertise in the ecological and economic dimensions of Best Practices. But, the truth is, Best Practices must be considered separately for focus, AND together to ensure one dimension does not infringe on another.
